Add to that the fact that we were away from the normal noise and traffic that you can find on the lake and you have the makings for a perfect getaway. The lake is fairly quiet where we are which was really nice for teaching water skiing to our kids. The water is clear and beautiful and goes on forever! Kevin and Karen are very kind and always around to help out. Our boat broke down mid week, and they towed us in. This is a great family place to be, and we are looking forward to our next visit. My family spent 4 wonderful days at the Poco Risco Log Home! Keven was great to work with and I knew even before we got there that it was going to be a wonderful experience. We had considered driving to Florida in August but after having such a great time at the Little Niangua getaway we just had to come back. Kevin is very helpful and always available. He helped us with the boats and also helped us back out a boat and trailer from the driveway when we did NOT pay attention to the no turnaround sign. Sorry about that :) Anyway we had an awesome trip and never left the house by car. We took the boats to HA HA TONKA and the rest of the time we stayed near our dock. The area is so calm which was perfect for a large group with many small children. Thanks again.

Our family rented the Little Niangua Getaway cabin for our vacation first of November, 2003. It was very convenient to be near family in Camdenton. The accomodations were perfect. We were all very pleased with our stay and plan on staying there again on our next visit to Missouri. We (my husband, myself and our two children ages 10 and 5) stayed in the new home on lot 7 in late July 2003. We had an absolutely fabulous time. The weather was warm, but not too hot. The lake is clean and the water refreshing. The house is unbelievable - beautiful inside and out. We had such a great time that we have already booked a repeat trip for next year which is something we have never done before!

Staying in a Poco Risco home was one of the best vacation decisions we've made. If you stay in one of Kevin's homes be sure to check out Ha Ha Tonka State Park, jumping from the "cliffs" (you'll have to ask someone where they are) and The Fish for both lunch and dinner.

I found your Little Niangua Getaway Home on your website and booked a week-long vacation for 5 couples and our children in the hopes that the pictures weren't misleading. To say we were all a little nervous upon arrival is an understatement, myself especially, as everyone had trusted my judgement. We were more than happy with the accomodations which met and exceeded our expectations. Unlike most vacations, we had the comfort of home in a vacation-like atmosphere. It was like living on the lake. The house was equipped as promised and once we settled in, we never had to run back to town. We prepared all meals at the cabin and had plenty to do on the lake to keep us going. I only hope the walk up the stairs from the dock helped me burn some of the weight I put on eating!! An extra thanks for returning with a new blender at 10:00 pm on the first night of our stay-that was really going out of your way. You will definitely see us again and hopefully others who we have eagerly recommended.

I am writing this for anyone who may find themselves in a similar situation. We needed a vacation, wanted to do something new, someplace new. My wife used the internet to search for vacation cabin rentals within a 10-hour radius south of our home (Northern Illinois). We found this and many others. After a few unpleasant conversations with other locations, a few uninformative exchanges with other locations, and a few that were just not what we were looking for, we decided on Poco Risco. Kevin was very informative and responsive leading up to and after our arrival. The accommodations were as good or better than "advertised". Kevin was/is very pleasant and professional. We stayed with our two daughters (3 years old) and my parents. We all had a great time; the cabin/home was clean, well laid out, and just a pleasure. The girls (actually, all of us) didn't want to go home. Booking a vacation over the internet can be, by its nature, risky- this was a very pleasant experience that I fully recommend. BTW- this section of the lake was quiet- we loved it.

Kevin, we had a great time over New Years. A very nice place with a great fireplace made our stay exactly what we wanted for the holiday. We saw several bald eagles that flew within 30 feet of the house. They were so close you could see their eyes. AWESOME!!! The snow that we got made everything so beautiful. What's up with the castle across the lake? Would definately stay there again.

We are making our family vacations an annual event, mainly because we such had a wonderful stay at the log cabin. The lake is beautiful in the spring AND the fall. The surroundings are so peaceful. I miss sitting out on the deck watching the birds as they float over the water.
My little nieces love to go on walks and pick wildflowers for the table. They also love to fish from the dock althought they haven't gotten the casting down yet.
I grew up in Missouri and live in California now but going to the cabin at Poco Risco makes me appreciate the beauty of Missouri.

Loved our stay at LNG log home. We had found the house on the internet, so were very apprehensive and didn't know what to expect, especially as we had never visited Missouri before. The house was lovely, very spacious and immaculate. That part of the lake provides the exact peace and quiet we were looking for. We loved the views over the lake, the private access, the sunsets, air conditioning--everything about it. I recommend poco risco log homes highly.
